CYMS ATTENDED A ONE-DAY CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP.

The Director General of Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS), Chief Obinna Nwaka, together with Hon. Kelechi Ugwumba, the Director of Contacts and Mobilization at CYMS, participated in a One-Day Capacity Building Workshop organized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The workshop brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including experts in cryptocurrency and digital finance, media professionals, and leaders of civil society organizations (CSOs), to discuss evolving trends and challenges in financial crimes and corruption prevention.

The central objective of the program was to foster stronger collaboration between government agencies, private institutions, and civic organizations in combating financial crimes. It also aimed to enhance grassroots awareness, promote transparency and accountability, and equip participants with practical knowledge and early detection strategies to identify and report fraudulent activities.

During the session, participants were educated on emerging threats in the crypto and fintech ecosystems, money laundering schemes, and cyber-enabled financial offenses. Emphasis was placed on public enlightenment, ethical leadership, and the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding Nigeria’s economic integrity.

Representing CYMS, Chief Nwaka reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to youth reorientation and anti-corruption advocacy, highlighting the importance of empowering young Nigerians with the right information and moral discipline to resist and report financial crimes. He commended the EFCC for its proactive efforts in engaging youth-focused organizations like CYMS as strategic partners in national reformation and moral awakening.

Hon. Kelechi Ugwumba also reiterated CYMS’s dedication to grassroots mobilization and community sensitization, noting that curbing corruption requires the active involvement of citizens at all levels.

The Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) remains a key partner of the EFCC, continuously supporting initiatives aimed at building a corruption-free, transparent, and economically vibrant Nigeria through education, collaboration, and responsible civic engagement.
