On Tuesday, 22nd October 2024, CYMS attended the National CyberCrime Summit organized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The event which took place at the Banquet Hall, State House Presidential Villa Abuja had the presence of the First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria Sen Oluremi Tinubu CON as the Special Guest of Honor, Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Honourable Minister of Youth Development Mr Ayodele Olawande, Members of the Diplomatic corps etc.
The summit offered an opportunity for the official unveiling of the EFCC Rapid Response Center.
During the panelists contribution, the CYMS’s Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka @obinna1nwaka highlighted the major causes of cybercrime among the youth, which has to do with Poor governance and bad leadership.
He also condemned the move by some State governors calling for the dissolution of the EFCC, he described their actions selfish and asked how the country would be without the existence of the EFCC
The Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka was joined to the summit by Mr Kelechi Ugwumba, CYMS’s Director Contacts and Mobilization.
CYMS Delegation was warmly received by the EFCC Executive Chairman, Mr Ola Olukoyede, Mr Niyi the South South Zonal Director, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman etc.
